This weekend was a bit busy in a good way. As you know I love cooking and baking so for a while now I had been looking for a location that offered pastry decorating courses. A few years ago my father surprised me with what looks like a small suitcase but is filled with all the little gadgets to decorate and make a cake or any dessert look fancy. I love it! If you follow me on instagram, twitter, or facebook you probably have seen the picture of the final cake. I will be going back to take other classes and learn more techniques. My father was waiting at home to see the final results of the cake. He laughed and critiqued everything about it. He questioned why I made a snowman-winter cake in summer, told him that was the theme of the day so get over it. He did enjoy the flavor and decor but said it was a little too sweet. Which it was, lol.
As you probably heard there was a bit of rain in certain places in and around Los Angeles, as well as lighting and even people getting injured in Venice Beach. The day was gloomy, humid, and hot. While we were at the cemetery visiting and having lunch with my momma we could hear the thunder but no signs of rain.
Here is the look of the day. Every time I combine khaki and white I always think of going on a wild safari. I enjoy this combination and love adding a panama hat to it.
Wishing you a happy Monday!
