Out By the Woods: Winter Pieces Must Haves

The holiday season is right around the corner and so is winter. I love everything about this time from the smell of pine trees to the sound of the birds and the way the sun lights up the day. Maybe it's me and my silly mind but ever since I was a kid I saw every season different and associated distinct sounds and scents to each one.

Today I'm sharing some of my must pieces for Winter. They can be combined with various outfits and fit into any style.

1. HATS:  I love hats any shape or form. They are a great accessory and come in various colors as well as styles. I recommend choosing one that fits your face shape and a color that pops. I like berets for winter they are chic and give that French vibe.

2. LONG VESTS: This piece is great for any body shape and perfect to layer over any outfit and use as a coat with out the puffy look. You can wear it over a dress, jeans and a long sleeved shirt, or like me over a printed shirt and skirt. Details catch the eye, for that reason I like to recommend finding something special about it. What I liked about this piece is the faux-fur detail on the pockets. It gives it a bit of edginess without over doing it. (I found this vest on sale at Ann Taylor which I couldn't resist. It's no longer online but have seen it at stores.)

3. TARTAN: This is another piece that comes in various styles and colors. I like it in shirts, skirts, scarves, blankets, etc. Some people fear tartan might make them look like lumberjacks but if you choose the right style and depending on piece, you'll be fine. If you are still not sure start with a scarf or simple top. This will be perfect to wear for all those holiday parties soon to approach us.

Wishing you a great weekend and stay tune for more winter must haves. Hope you enjoyed this and gave you some ideas. Stay tune for more on the Bug.
