Easter Pieces

Easter Pieces

With Easter just a few days away I thought I'd share some of the pieces that can be easily added and mixed in for your Easter Sunday affairs. Spring is all about pastels and mixing them with prints and more. I like my pieces to easily transition form one season to the next. For that reason I always think of multiple ways to wear a piece before making any purchases.

Here are some pieces to give you ideas to add to your outfit this Easter.

Enjoy your weekend and Easter! See you Monday :)

Spring Florals

Floral pieces always remind me of my childhood when I use to twirl around to show them off. Now days I find it hard looking for the right flower pattern for me. I came across this skirt a while back and I just love how rich the colors were, that I had to have it. On Sunday pops and I headed out to brunch and since we had our dates confused we thought it was Easter Sunday, so I decided to dress for the day. Well, we were wrong. Either way I loved sporting this outfit for Spring.

Flower Picking

A week ago I visited the Original LA Flower Market for the first time since we hate dealing with traffic and parking issues, pops and I took the bus. The only issue we did have was me buying a little too many flowers.

Since I knew we were going to be doing a lot of walking I decided to wear my comfortable -casual wear.

Down with Earth

This weekend I decided to wear earth tones and keep my outfit simple. I added an orange colored scarf to give it a pop. I've notice colors tend to enhance my mood that's why I make sure I always mix in some color.

Hope you are having a great day!

Weekend Memories

One of the many things I enjoy doing is going grocery shopping. I love cooking and baking even though I'm not the best. But practice does make perfect, right?  One place I love visiting is this Vietnamese market nearby where I get all my fresh fish. I've been shopping here since I was a kid along with my momma. I use to help her "fish" according to me by pick lobsters with the clamps, shrimp and clams with my hands (then my mom made run to the sink and wash my hand before I touched anything). She taught me about what fresh meats are suppose to look like, smell and ways to cook them. I always find myself going back to things I use to do with my mom. It's comforting and in a way it helps when I miss her more than usual.

When I'm running errands I like to keep my outfits casual and comfortable. Comfort is a must for me in everyday style.

Beauty Buzz with Laura Neuzeth

{Picture from Laura Neuzeth}

As I've shared with you I prefer to stick to natural/ homemade beauty products when possible. I love going on Pinterest and look for easy DIY beauty recipes that use things I already have in hand.

Today I have an easy, clean, and quick homemade face mask that has many great benefits for your skin and was created by a fellow blogger. I introduce to you beauty guru, Laura Neuzeth. She's the creator of Laura Neuzeth blog, where she shares beauty tips, fashion, DIY and more. I love her blog which I came across through Latina Bloggers Connect on Google. Ever since I watched her youtube video on eyeliners I haven't left her blog and try most of her beauty tutorials since I suck at putting on makeup.

The recipe is very simple and uses things already stored in anyones  kitchen cabinet. Head over to Laura's blog and get the full recipe plus the full details on each of the ingredients used.

I have been using the mask twice a week and I can tell my face is smoother, brighter, and softer. Since I don't have the best working schedule this really has helped hydrate my skin and control my oily t-zone, which I give bonus points to. Let me know how it works on you.

Happy Friday!

Sailor and Yellow

One piece you will always find in my closet is sailor pants. I love the style, how comfortable they are, and how they work on anybody. They make any shape look slimmer and taller. They are a staple of the 70’s so what my dad says.  I decided to wear mine with a yellow top and leopard wedges. It was a bit windy as you can see from the pictures but the weather was perfect. I continue to look for ways to hold and do my hair now that is growing out. For the last couple of days the hair and I haven’t come to an agreement to work together so pins have become my saviors.

Lady in Tweed and White

A couple weeks ago I attended the Simply Stylist Fashion & Beauty Conference at The Grove. It was a fun and learning experience. I will be sharing all the notes and tips I took in a upcoming post.

I wore a lightweight white dress with my favorite tweed jacket since it was warm on that day. To add color I also added my orchid colored bag.

(sorry for my ugly-veiny hands my bag was a bit heavy with my notebook, snacks, tablet, etc lol)

Casual Quatrefoil

On a recent trip to Tar-jay I found this jacquard coat a with quatrefoil pattern which is perfect for the season. I like that the coat is lightweight but sturdy enough for spring showers and can easily be worn and updated with various outfits.

I’ve began to wear head scarves again since my hair has rebelled on me.  Some days it’s workable others I look like a lion. Well on this day my solution was the head scarf. There are so many ways to wear scarves that I personally think it’s one of the best accessories to own. They can update any outfit by simply wearing them as belts, head scarves, on your neck, mixed in between bracelets, and so much more. I love prints and color so when I see one that suits my taste I get it. They are so affordable and you can find them anywhere from small boutiques to of course my favorite, TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

Full on Color

I was so eager for Spring to arrive that I decided to welcome it by wearing color. There is something so pleasing and wonderful about seeing the flowers bloom in our garden. Which inspired this look by mixing colors and patterns. I'm easily inspired by everything that surrounds me whether it's plants, architecture, people, etc.
