Happy hump day! With this whole daylight savings time change weeks seem to fly by. As I mention to you on Friday, last Saturday was the half marathon, 10k, 5k Lexus LaceUp Running Series. I have to say it was such a fun and memorable experience. Never did I think I would run and finish a 10k. Even my father was impressed since I’ve never been athletic. The view and weather were beautiful, if you follow me on instagram you probably saw some pictures. The one thing I was so happy to have done along my training was run up and down hills. Usually the dogs drag me and it sure paid off. I finished at 1:06:18 which seemed impossible. I had mentally given myself an hour and thirty minutes or more, since I had never done a marathon. I like challenging myself outside my comfort zone. If it feels uncomfortable or scary then I’m setting my mind to do it. You only live once and you have to take risks otherwise you never know what you might miss out on. I can’t wait to register for another 10k and a mud run to see my progress. Have you ever ran a marathon? If you have I would love to hear any tips and recommendations.
Today’s look is something I’ve been wearing a lot, shorts. Part of me is still in summer and the other in fall. As you know the weather in Los Angeles is never consistent and the thermometer never really drops. Of course the mornings and evenings are chilly and the days not as warm, which is why I’ve been pairing shorts with tights. I like taking my pieces from one season to the next and shorts are no exception. I’m a fan of tweed so when I find a piece I like I get it. I added a blazer, faux-fur scurf and hat to complete the look. I think a black blazer is a great piece to have because it automatically makes any outfit look polished.

Thank you! I found the faux-fur scarf last year at target and wish I had gotten the other colors. I know marshalls and tjmaxx are now stocking up on similar ones.
DeleteYo go girl and rock that marathon. I'm cheering for you. It sounds and seems hard but honestly it's all about the mental state. It's fun and something new and I know you will enjoy it and keep on looking for more challenging goals. So happy to meet you and pls do stay in touch. I took a trip to your blog and can get off it. I love the beauty hauls :)
I love this look. I have a couple pairs of tweed shorts but I feel goofy wearing shorts in winter. Although I did buy them during winter last year. Maybe I will be brave enough to wear that style soon. I love your style.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I say wear them :). Pair them with black tights or add colored ones to spice it up. They will be great pieces to use for those holiday parties coming up. Let me know if you wear them :)
