Leather Rose

Last month I attended a few LA Fashion Week events and for one of them I decided to wear a faux leather skirt which I bought a while back, since I was feeling a bit edgy and fierce. I paired it with a top my mom bought me years ago for a wedding we attended. I want to say I was about 14 years old.

I love mixing old and new pieces. When I say old pieces I really mean old, stuff my mom bought me when I was a teenager like this blouse. I still remember finding surprises on my bed like garment bags when I got home from school. Then of course I would play dress up and model for her and she would show me how to make multiple outfits. Till this day she still amazes me even though she is no longer with us. Her words of wisdom, gifted styling ideas, fashion views and everything else. She really knew about trends and pieces to own and what to splurge on. Best places to find great bargains and quality and what worked for my body shape. She is my inspiration and fashion icon I look up to.

Neon or Lime

Happy Monday everyone! ...  I wore this neon lime or lime colored skirt on Saturday to the GLAUDI Runway Show. Before summer ended the list for  fall's fashion In's & Out's came out from various stylist and one of the out's was neon colors. I'm not one to follow rules in fashion. I tend to wear what I like and of course what I feel comfortable and confident in. There are those rules I stick to like: less is more and don't let the clothes wear you, etc. Those rules I always follow. But when it comes to what colors or prints to wear I like to play around and mix the dont's. (lol)  What do you think ?
