Beauty Buzz: Skin Deep

Beauty Buzz: Koh Gen Do

Happy Hump Day! Today I’m sharing with you one of my latest beauty obsession products. I stumbled upon this Gommage Gel from Koh Gen Dow while browsing around Violet Gray . When it comes to putting or getting anything done on my face I'm really protective of it. I've never gotten an actual facial let alone a peel. I've seen the side effects from both facials and peels and scare me. My big fear is getting scars, I know I’m not the 8th wonder of the world that's why I’m a chicken when it comes to getting pinched all over my chubby face.  Then again, my mom once said that using too many products on your skin can actually damage your skin... blah, blah, blah.

One thing I do know is we all want and love clear and healthy skin. I also believe that taking the right steps to care for your face is very important. As I mention before I have combo-skin, an oily T-zone and normal all around. Many say that’s a blessing because it will take longer for wrinkles to show as I age. Which, I agree my daddy has an oily skin and only has a few wrinkles and that’s his crow’s feet. Mom was the same way. Well my issue with oily skin is clogged pores and getting extra oily in hot or humid weather, plus my make up running. Little by little I have found solutions but now this gel has become a necessity.

So let me tell you how it works. It’s super easy and you can do it while you catch up on Empire online (that’s my favorite show as of now) or on your favorite show. After you wash and scrub your face go ahead and squeeze a pea size amount and begin to gently circulate onto skin. You will automatically see old skin peeling off. So my fear with this was the side effect of burning or later on peeling and looking like a tomato. I can confirm there is none of that. The actual side effect from this gently peel is a cool sensation and very soft skin. To get a better picture of what I mean, remember when were kids and we use to use Elmer’s glue for arts and crafts, but instead most of the glue end up on our hands, arms, face, and even hair? Then once we "finished with our master pieces" we would peel off the glue. Well it’s pretty much the same effect.
I’ve been using it for 3 weeks now twice a week. After wards you can use a restoration mask or serum. Instead I use aloe vera straight from my garden. I cut it into pieces and store it in a glass jar pop it in the fridge and use it when I need to. Aloe vera stimulates the growth of new cells and helps with complexion plus it’s a natural product. I have notice the dark spots clearing up and pores shrinking. I've also notice an even skin tone and of course super soft skin. As of last week I've dropped down to using it only once a week when I notice my skin a bit scaly or dull. It's a great investment for both females and males and works on any skin type. If you have sensitive skin I recommend like any other product trying it on a small part to check for any reactions or side effects.
